Napthol Red Portrait

Lately Ive been working on this self portrait as a way to keep up my oil painting knowledge in between semesters. I intend for this piece to be a contrast to my pthalo blue/green portrait, which was my final in my Painting I class.
To the right is the underpainting I started with. It was a bit of a tricky angle, especially since I have a wonky nose. There was quite a bit of anatomy changes that I had to make after I put paint on.

Here is the most recent progress that I have made. I dont think I will need to do much else aside from clean up the lighting around the hair.
I found that napthol red combined with cadmium yellow create this glow that really brough it to life. I mainly used a white glaze to lighten the highlight areas, and went back over it with a yellow glaze which made a super nice glow.
Below is the napthol portrait compared to the pthalo portrait. I love the color contrast and napthol should hopefully be done soon.
